Well done to our u14s who competed yesterday in the prestigious invite only kilmacud 7s competition. The girls started their day with a win over Tinryland of Carlow in the first game, followed by defeats to Walterstown of Meath and Killkerin Clonberne of Galway. This meant that the girls would participate in the Plate competition for the rest of the day. Up next we’re Geraldine’s of Louth in the last 16 and then we were up against Crosserlough of Cavan. The girls then faced Tinahely of Wicklow in the semi final. The girls battled hard all day to reach the final against Templemore of Tipperary. The final was a great match but the girls unfortunately came up short losing by an agonising 1 point in the end.
Everyone at Derrynoose GAC are extremely proud of each girl for their efforts. A small club like Derrynoose taking on all the best teams in Ireland. They will know all about the talented bunch we have in a few years to come at senior level!
